I’ve always had a very special relationship with my readers. It’s honestly the best part of doing what I do. On days when I am frustrated and want to just give up the whole writing thing all together…it’s all of YOU that keep me going.
The picture above is a pic of me with one of my readers, Tiffany, who I got to meet a few years back when I was in Atlanta. She brought all her copies of my books for me to sign! We attended a live show together and it was so great to get to hang out with her and hear all about life and her connection to my books.
Here’s a pic of me with my reader, Susan. She visited Nashville a couple of years ago, so I promptly invited her to join me at a comedy show. She was so inspired by my book, You Are Enough, she actually got a tattoo just like mine on her wrist that reads “Enough.”
Below is a photo of me with my reader, Karen. She was vacationing in the Smoky Mountains with her family a few years ago at the same time that I was vacationing there with MY family, so we got a chance to meet up one day and hang out for a little while. :)
And finally…here’s a pic of me with my reader, Laura. She reached out to me before my book launch party for You Are Enough and told me she was thinking about traveling all the way from Ohio to Tennessee for the event…so I invited her to stay at my house! We ended up bonding for life and she came back to visit a couple of months later for my birthday. We are still great friends today. Here we are at my ice skating birthday celebration! :)
I say all this to say: I don’t know too many authors who have such a unique bond with their readers. So when I was planning my virtual book launch party for Turn Toward the Sun, I didn’t want to invite some random celebrity to join me for clout purposes. I wanted to find a way to thank my readers for their loyalty and passion and friendship by sharing some of THEIR stories: Real women, like you and me, dealing with real issues that single women contend with every single day on this journey we call LIFE.
On June 17th, you’ll get to meet Tiffany and several other readers of mine as we celebrate the launch of Turn Toward the Sun. It’s going to be such a wonderful night of inspiration and humor and authentic discussions about the struggles we face every day as single women. About allllll the many WHAT IF’S we have to wrestle with every single day, living life the single way, and about how to not let those what if’s stop us from living fully in the WHAT IS. I do hope you’ll join us. It’s free, and all you have to do to reserve your spot is click the image below.
Hope to see you there,
Mandy
